Almost 50!

Jan 14, 2008

Man I can't believe so much has happened since I posted at the end of the summer.  I had all my pre op appts.  and finally on Nov 27 at 7:30 in the morning they wheeled me in for my surgery.  Man it was a long process to get to that point.  I had no problems, everything went really well.  So now just 7 short weeks later I am approaching a 50 lbs loss (48).  I can't believe that those pounds are gone forever.  Everytime I hit another 10 and can say goodbye to a number I feel incredible.  In 2 more lbs I get to say goodbye to another 10 lb mark and I can't wait.  I will try to keep up on my posting as I know this will help me keep track of my journey.

See ya!

Wow It's the End of Summer!

Sep 03, 2007

So summer officially ended yesterday.  This weekend was full of swimming and family.  It was a great time.

I have come a long way since my last post here.  I finally emailed the Bariatric center I am using and got a response.  They had lots of turnover and somehow my paperwork got lost in the shuffle.  Friday I got the call I had been waiting for.  My insurance company approved the surgery for me.  Yeah!  Happy Dance!  I can now set up my Cardiac and Pulmunary appts and get on with the process.  I have set up my psycological eval and my dietician appt which will be later this month.  I am hoping to attend a support group meeting this week (Thurs) and I will try again to get a hold of the Preop Education class coordinator and PT.  Hopefully I can get through this week to set this all up.  I just want to get on with this!

The Seminar

Apr 30, 2007

So last Monday I spoke with a woman at work that I had never met before but she was talking about her wls and I had to get into the conversation.  She went to a location in Kansas and was very pleased.  She told me where to go to find info on their surgery stuff and I looked and there was a seminar the next day (Tuesday)  Wow!  I have signed up for the Seminar that is for Dr. Scott's group but I wanted to see about this location since it is much closer to me.  Well I went with my dh, and I was very impressed.  I am almost finised with the paperwork.  I have to get all the medical records still but I feel like the process is on the way.

I have hit a little snag with the paperwork.  My insurance covers the surgery at 100% as long as I meet all the requirements (no problem) and the dr is in my plan, however the hospital he does the surgery just lost the contract with my insurance.  I am so upset.  I guess they are trying to work it all out but I just hate the delays.
