Well, update..... lets see.......
I am down to 267, 270 on a bad day. I think I am slowing down alittle, or reaching a plateaus. So to not let it hit me so hard, I am doing SOOOOOO much better with my eatting. Yesterday I was able to get in 61 grams of protein!!! I am using FitDay.com much better now and I am loving it!! I am putting in all of my exercising and such! I reached 1000 calories yesterday as well, I kinda splurged on some nutter Butter's!! Opps!! I am tolerate things like that, so i need to be carefule!1 I am just SOO happy that I am making more of an effort to get my protein in. My hair is already starting to fall out and I don't like that!! I am going to the gym, and I am doing ab exercises now, which I wasn't before because I wanted the DOC to tell me that it was alright. I am doing well with my vitamins and okay with my water intake.
So this journey is JUST getting started for me! I am finally taking it seriously!! So I am hopping the weight will come off alittle faster. 2-3 pounds a week is what I am going for!! I can't wait til I reach 240 lbs!!! That is like 27 more pounds away!! I am so excited!!
Here is a pic of Janel (my angel!) and I in my "photo" section. I went to Fremont for my 6 week appointment, that was 1 month postponed!! LOL!!

Well, I can't even remember a time when I was 282 lbs!!!! I think I was a freshman / sophmore in HS!! I am so happy!!! My BIG point will be once I hit 240 lbs! I remember the DAY I hit the 240 lbs. mark, I was in the 7th grade, I remeber seeing that number on the scale as if it were yesterday!! I cried so much! So once I hit the 240 lbs mark, I am gonna celebrate!! Only 42 more pounds to go for that celebration!
Now, let me make some goals! I kinda used my first month out to relax and take it easy. Even though my recovery was awesome!! I am going to really start getting serious! Starting today, I am going to go to the gym, 5 days a week, and I created this eating journal and I am going to keep track of my eating with that. I need to be eating more protein so I am going to make it a goal of mine to lose 10 pounds a month!! That is my minimum goal, if I lose more than that, sure! LOL! So my next goal is to be 272 lbs by November 12!
October 10th, almost 1 month out!!
Oct 29, 2006
Hello everyone! Well I am almost 1 month out (in 2 days I will post 1 month pics) I am down to 283 which is 17 pounds in 1 month. I am hoping to lose 3 pounds in the next 2 days to make it an even 20 pounds! I am excited! I am able to different foods, but getting me to est them is a whole different story. I just wanna eat the same thing every time, but I am starting to get tired of cheese and chrackers, and I think that is why my weight lose is slower than others, I am going to start eatting more protein, and I am going to start walking every day. I am very happy that I had this surgery, no complications, and I just feel great! I'll post in 2 days, my 1 month out pictures! I really think that i have lost more inches than anything!!!

~September 10, 2006
Hey everyone! Well I got back home last night from my weekend in San Jose . Friday was my pre-op appointment and that went very well. They were alittle behind, so they had me go and get my EKG, and my Lab work done before I met with Dr. Chu. So after I got all of that done, my mom and I waited and we finally met with Dr. Chu after about 30 minutes or so. But that was fine, as long as I get the same amount of time with my Surgeron as everyone else. So we met with her and she told me that she didn't expect to see me so soon! And I was like, um.... so soon! lol. Not so soon for me! Anyway, she just went over some paperwork, and put my on antibiotics for my cycts around my belly button, becuase she doesn't want there to be any bacteria around the insisions. So today I have been putting hydrogen peroxcide, and anti bacterial ointment on my cycts along with the meds, so I am hoping they will be cleared by Tuesday. So anyway, it went very well, Dr. Chu is pregnant!! I forget how far along, I think she said 46 weeks, she is really showing! She is so adorable!! Anyway, I am going to stick to my protein drinks today and go and get a cute pajama set and some comfortable pants and top to wear home! So I think my last post (pre-op) will be tomorrow, we are just gonna say up here in Placerville, and drive down to Fremont Tuesday morning. That way I can sleep in my own bed and be comfortable! So wish me luck!! Love ya'll!

Hello Everyone!!
Well I am home from surgery, well I got home yesterday. Surgery went very well! If you would like, I can account that day...
My original appointment to be at the hospital was at 11am, but they called me Sept. 11th and told me that the person before me was being rescheduled and i was being moved to 9am. So we still stayed up here in Placerville, becuase we would only need to leave Placerville at 6am to get to Fremont . Well we get there, I have to fill out a form, pay my co-pay of $200 and get my wrist band. So we go upstairs to where they will be doing the surgery, and we wait in the waiting room, what seemed like forever! And they called me to a dressing room to get undressed, and put on 2 gowns, I ended up taking my nose ring out!! :( but oh well, when I think about it now, it would have been a pain!
So once I got into my gown, they brought my mom back and they took me to a makeshift room and had me sit in a recliner chair. She asked me all sorts of questions, alot I don't remeber! And then another nurse came and gave me my I.V. then I got a blood thinner shot as well.
So I waited, and waited, and waited and waited. Until about 12 or so the head nurse in the surgery room told me that there was some confusion on their part and that the lady before me had actually gone in for her surgery, so I would need to wait until around 2pm. Well, I was a little bummed, but what are ya gonna do??!! So I just sat there and finally the rest of my family came in, the nurses called them my pose! It was pretty funny cause I had so many people there. But anyway we waited and talked and then the anathesiologist assistant came in and asked me some questions then I asked to go to the bathroom, and finally the head anathesiologist, my surgeon, and the head nurse came in (well at different times) to see how I was doing, ask me some more questions and so on. And I started to shake by this point, I was getting so nervous, and then the nurse came in to take me to the surgery room, I got up and when i hugged my mom, I started to cry really bad, I hugged my sister, my brother-in-law, my neice and my friends I was crying oh man! lol. So I was walking down the hall and it was so funny because ALL of my family had to stop at a certain point and there were sooooo many of them, taking pictures and video, the staff was laughing.
So I get into the surgery room, and I was surprised to see that it was ALL women, so I said that and they said that's right baby! They have me take of the second robe, and I get on the table, which was lined with blankets and I layed my head down and oh man, I was like, I need another pillow. So they gave me a pillow for my head and to put under my knees. The anathesiologist said, "yeah you look really nervous! I'm gonna give you something right now that is gonna make you feel like you just had a couple of beers..." I was like alright, fine with me!! LOL. So she gave me that, and I don't really remember anything else after that, I think she gave me a tripple dose becuase she saw how nervous I was!
So I wake up in recovery and I am telling you, my back and my neck hurt SOOOO sticken bad!! I was surprised by how much they hurt! All I kept saying was, "my back, my neck" and my voice was so raspy, and I think that I was in and out of sleep, not sure, my brain was so cloudy! All I remeber was being in so mcuh pain, not my stomach, but everything else, and I asked for my mom!! So she came in and I was telling her how much my back hurt!! LOL! So I get to my room and I am there for 2 days. Nothing much happened after that, it was very hard to eat ANYTHING, especially hospital food. So I didn't eat much of anything. But that is about it, I will try and update regularly what's been going on! Talk to ya later!
Here are some pics of me and my family is the hosptial:

~September 17, 2006 - 5 days post-op
Hey everyone, well, I am 5 days post op and I had gone from 300 lbs to 296lbs. So I've lost a total of 4 pounds. I am reading other profiles and they seem to be losing faster, but you know what I am not going to compare myself to anyone else, So i am thankful for what I have lost! I have been able to keep everything down. I am a little dizzy in the morning, I have to wait to eat about 30 minutes becuase I take a thyroid med in the morning. But my insisions are healing very well, and I am working on getting in more protein. I don't eat very much, but what I am gonna work on, Iam making a chart to go by that way I am taking my vitamins, food, protein, water and exercise on a timed schedule. So I am gonna get better at that. Anyway, doing great, my stomach is becoming less sore as each day passes, I was able to get out of bed better today! woohooo! So I am happy! I just thank and pray to God EVERYDAY for this wonderful proceedure. ~September 21, 2006 Hey Everyone, Well it has been a week and 2 days and i have lost 11 pounds since surgery. I was getting a little discouraged and I told my mom this and she was like, "Ashley, how much weigt did you lose the week before surgery?" And I ad lost a good 6 pounds, so really in total, in 2 weeks, I have lost 17 pounds. So I am happy about that, and I think that since I lost that weight, my body is in working mode. I am basically losing 1 pound a day or so, so I can't complain. I am very thankful for this surgery, I am already getting head hunger! Oh well, I know that will pass as well
