Hello! My name is Kathy and I am approved for for a vertical sleeve. Surgery date is June 3rd. I have been overwieght for all of my adult life. I have 2 beautiful daughters 
who are my life and I was a gestional diabetic with both pregnancies. When my youngest was 3 I found out that I have diabetes and began my life of insulin injections and oral meds. My goal is to get healthy and be around to see my grandchildren. I am not expecting to be super model thin, nor do I want to be. The idea of not taking insulin shots is so exciting! If thats the only thing thats happens this would be well worth it. I work in the ER at a local hospital and I really like it...most of the time. I am married to a great guy who is very supportive of this decision. We have been married for almost 5 years and been together for 7 years. We both had previous marriages and children. I had 2 and he has 1. They all live with us. Our kids are 18,16, & 15. My oldest is graduating from High school in May 
and going away to college in Aug. 
My doctor is Jay Salimath in Peoria Il. He seems wonderful and I have only great things to say about his staff.
