Joseph Kuhn

"I found Dr Kuhn to posess the skills, temperment and sense of humor I needed. He revised my old (4.5 yrs) VBG to a RNY this week (March 08) and this was not an easy, cut and dried surgery. He was honest about the possible complications, limitations and expectations. I had heard that some professionals tend to look down on people with failed bariatric surgeries, as if they had failed to follow orders. Even before he discovered the very appearant physical reasons for my staple line breakdown, he was open-minded and accepting of me as a patient. I felt no such indifference from him. I could not recommend Dr Kuhn with more enthusiasm! He is a consumate professional and I appreciate all he has done for me and my family.rnTamerarnDallasrnPS- there is one negative aspect to the process I found. By way of some SNAFU with Dr Kuhn's office staff, my request for surgery was sent to my insurance company BEFORE I brought them copies of PCP, x-ray documentation of the breakdown and the history of hypertension. My BMI was so low that without these documents, I obviously didn't qualify for the surgery. It was not at all a simple thing to rectify this mistake and it took me over 6 months of letter writting, discussions with my insurance company, my husband's Union and Human Resources people before they would finally understand the paper glitch and agree that I did, indeed, qualify for the revision. Toward the end I DID loose all hope and had quite a few hopeless days. Luckily, tenacity won out. Thank God for UHC, American Airlines, the AFL-CIO Transportation Worker's union and Dr Kuhn!"
