I am truly on the other side! My surgery on Thursday went without a hitch. I have had little discomfort and was discharged less than 48 hours after my surgery. I had no complications and want to thank everyone who wished me well and said an extra prayer. I am feeling surprisingly good and expect to return to work on Monday. I must be crazy! But staying active is important to me and I will have fewer problems if I get on back to a regular routine. The worst part was probably getting a urinary tract infection this morning (blast those Foley catheters!) which kept me in the bathroom every 5 minutes. But I got a dose of Bactrim and Pyridium before I left the hospital and am MUCH better now. I am amazed how I feel after eating a very little bit. Last night I ate a couple of tablespoons of applesauce to get some medications down and felt as if I had eaten a couple of plates full of spaghetti! I ate a some Taco Bell pintos when I got home from the hospital and still feel comfortably stuffed after 2 hours. This is exactly what I hoped would happen - satiety with a small amount of food. I want to thank my special angel Linda. She was so there for me and for my husband during this time. She came to the hospital at 5:15am and stayed until I was out of surgery. She kept you guys updated and was so supportive through everything. There is just no way to adequately thank her. Linda, you are truly a compassionate angel. And I love you!

Hi again....I went to the hospital to visit Anndrea today...She is out of ICU and in a nice private room....No IV's, no catheters, no compression stockings....In fact, she was trotting up and down the halls when I called earlier this evening.....She is doing so well that she will probably go home tomorrow.... ANNDREA--WELCOME TO A NEW BEGINNING!!!! Love you both....Good luck!!!

Andrea, I'm thrilled you made it to the other side! You'll have to let me know how Dr. Weil's Healing CD worked -- he's my hero! Get well and let everyone in the support group know how you're doing!

Hi everyone....Andrea is officially now on the "other side." Her surgery was delayed a couple of hours this morning because Dr Stahl was needed to assist on another surgery...Her surgery began about 10 AM and was over between 12:30 and 1 PM....She did very well, came through with flying colors....She will be in ICU tonite because of sleep apnea (SOP), but hopefully will be moved out to a regular room tomorrow after drinking the lovely yummy barium stuff to check for leaks....
