2 weeks, 25 lbs lost!

I got the OK to start working out on the treadmill, eliptical and bikes! We went to check out the new community center and the gym is kick ass! There is a community center for each housing area here on base, and apparently no one in our community has been in to use the new gym yet. It be nice if it stayed that way and I could have it all to myself.

Dropped Jake off at the airport yesterday. It didnt really hit me that he is gone back to Iraq, until I came home to an empty house. It was a lonely night, and will be a long and lonely 8 more months. I think I am going to start doing video journals to track my progress and keep them for him to watch when he comes home.

Today is my 2 week anniversary! I have lost a total of 25 lbs exactly! I am still pretty tired, but I think once I get that protein, my energy levels will pick up.

I had some refried beans with cheese, and some cream of mushroom soup today. The NUT told me that I could probably eat anything that can be chewed into mush right now, but to stay away from raw veggies for a couple of weeks. I am still scared to try some things though. I need to start thinking about what foods are good and which are bad. Atleast on the liquid diet, I didnt have to worry so much about calorie/carb intake etc.

i dumped today for the first time!

It was watermelon.. I ate some last night and it sat pretty good, then I had a couple of chunks today and I guess there just wasnt any room for it.. and that was it!

My god it was painful.. I just wanted it OUT!


Keeping Track

I signed up and starting using Fitday.com
Its really difficult to keep track of how much liquid I am taking in each day, especially if Im out and forget to keep track. I am going to pay more attention to keeping track of what I am eatting and how many calories/protein I am taking in though.

I havent been getting in nearly enough protein.. hopefully tht'll change once I get my order of profect.

I wake up so dehydrated feeling every morning, maybe its because of the fan running all night, but it sure makes going straight to breakfast without anything to drink, hard.

Mmmmm Refried Beans were created by gods! I would never have thought Id like refried beans, especially on their own, but with such a limited diet right now, they are delish! I added abit of shredded cheese and sour cream, and its so filling for only an ounce or two.

Speaking of 'filling'... at this point, everything should be filling but I catch myself feeling hungry at times. I am going to make sure to bring it up at my post op appointment on Wednesday, and I sure hope its just head hunger, not something they have to go back in to physically fix.

I ordered some Profect vials the other day, hopefully they will be here by the end of the week and I can start getting all of my protein in. Bariatriceatting.com has some vials with 40g's of protein, I might try those next. I decided Im not a shake person and Isopure tastes like chalk.

I am really struggling with not smoking these last couple of days. Up until now (since I quit before surgery) it really hasnt bothered me, but now that I am getting bored sitting around the house, I find myself craving even more. I dont think its even the nicotine.. its moreso the action and habbit. I will not start smoking again... this is the longest Ive ever gone and dont want to fail.

Back to week 1 diet *sigh*

I tried some flaked chicken as recommended on my G2 diet list (Chicken salad) but it just isnt sitting right with me. I had it on Friday and it still feels like its just sitting there, stuck. I dont want to stretch my new pouch, so I havent eatten anything since. Ive stuck with water and Crystal lite.

Crystal Lite (Hydration To Go)
Apple Juice

Breakfast:
2 oz. Isopure Zero Carbs (40g protein juice) poured over 2 crushed ice cubes.
(each ice cube measures 1oz water each)
or
2-3 oz. Dannon Lite & Fit Yogurt

Lunch and/or Dinner:
2-3oz. Tuna w/ lite Mayo
2-3oz. Flaked Chicken w/ lite Mayo (Scratch that! makes me sick!!)
2 Saltine Crackers w/ Cheese spread
2-3oz. Cream of Broccolli & Cheese soup
2-3oz. Egg Drop soup

*Snacks* (count towards liquids, but used for snacks so I dont feel deprived)
Sugar Free Popsicles
Sugar Free Jello



A glance back at this last week

If you had asked me only a few days ago if I thought I had made the right decision and if I'd do it all over again, I probably would have winced in pain while giving you an unhesitated; HELL NO!!

It felt as though when Id make it through one complication, there'de be another. My body just wasnt prepared for what I had put it through. Then ending up in the ER only a couple of days out of the Hospital, I truely believed it was one of the worst decisions of my life.

Now here I am.. a week later, feeling GREAT and so positive that I made the RIGHT decision! I mean.. I am still in alittle pain, the bruising still isnt fading and the diet absolutely sucks!!... but if I am feeling this good 1 week out, I cant wait to experience how I am going to feel 1  month.. 1 year out!

The bruising just keeps getting worse day by day. I mean.. I expected some bruising, but it looks like someone has beat the living hell out of me... THEN ran me over with a train. It doesnt hurt, it just looks gross!

I haven't ever been a bruiser, I wonder if I *was* beaten during surgery!?
(Wouldn't surprise me either!)


One Week Post-Op

I am down 17 pounds in 7 days!!

I came home on Sunday and weighed 252, but that was from all of the swelling. I sure hope I can keep up this quick of loss, atleast for the rest of the month... but 17 lbs in 7 days isnt such a bad start huh?
