I gained most of my weight between 2002=2009 from major health crisis of a brain tumor and stroke. I gained roughly 150 pounds. I went from 150 to 315 at my heaviest. I sought out to have the sleeve surgery and began that process in November 2013. When I walked into my surgeon's office I weighed 315 pounds. I decided on the sleeve because I didn't understand the malabsorption of bypass and quite frankly rerouting of organ scared me! I went with a surgeon who was closet to where I live, mosty because I was to afraid to drive myself into St Louis, so I relied heavily on my husband to take me to those appointments. Looking back, this would be my biggest regret in this journey thus far. Going with a surgeon I didn't love or fully trust!  My surgeon ran into serious complications during my surgery and when she was done with my sleeve and I was out of surgery, I was taken back into surgery to repair a hematoma. I spent some time in the ICU and was in the hospital a total of 5 days after the sleeve surgery. It was a horrible experience all the way around! Here I am 2 years later and I've experienced a 31 lbs regain. The lowest weight I got to was 206 and today I'm sitting between 237 or more. I have severe acid reflux and ppain after I eat. I was taking 320mg of pantropazole, but when we moved to Ohio recently, my PCP refused to prescribed that dose for me saying it was dangerously high to be taking, so I have a bariatric consult tomorrow (Feb. 29) with Dr. Schumacher of Kettering Bariatrics. The pain and acid reflux prompted the call to him, but I'll be totally honest, I woule LOVE to get this regain weight off and actually get off all my BP meds. However, I'm SCARED TO DEATH of another bariatric surgery, so I'm walking VERY slowly forward as I begin this process....again. I'm here looking for others who have experienced similar journeys.
