I have always been big ever since about middle school I guess. I never realized I was fat until about the 8th grade. I was pretty comfortable where I was. I had friends, I was always out somewhere doing something with someone.
I met my husband when I was 17 and we got married just before I turned 19. He joined the Coast Guard and I began my career as a miltary wife. We moved to New Orleans. Had great friends, decent job, great food and great party scenes. I gained about 50lbs while we were there. Just eating and drinking and living life. Of couse I knew I was over weight. I dieted and exercised. I would loose weight and gain it back. I asked my doctor about weight loss surgery and I was told, your not big enough, you can do it on your own. So I put my head to it and lost about 70lbs taking adipex and working out a lot.
Then I got pregant and gain 50lbs. At my biggest I was 281 while pregnant. 1 1/2 years after having my daughter I finally asked my doctor for a referral to general surgery because all my efforts were not working for me the 2nd time around. I weighed 265lbs at my 1st orientation October 2010. After orientation I was sure I would be denied because my BMI was 36 and I had absolutley no medical conditions. Healthy just over weight. I still went ahead with all the pre-screening and made my 1st appointment with the sugeon hoping I wasn't wasting my time. Luckily Dr. Mann thought I was a great candidate for the gastric bypass and today I am 6 months post op and down 70lbs since surgery and a total of 94lbs!
I am currently at my goal weight of 171lbs. I am trying to be very patient about waiting for plastic surgery. I have plenty of time to research and save my money.
