Don't really have all that exciting of a story. My high weight was 283. I lost 9 pounds before surgery, so was down to 274. My surgeon's goal for me is 175, but I hope to get to 150.
As of 1.31.07, I am down to 147, and am very excited! I can't believe that I actually did this surgery. I already know it was one of the best things I have ever done for myself. Going to start therapy next month to start tackeling my food issues and some of the things that drive me to eat. That way later out I hopefully won't fall back into bad habits.
My mom and I had actually planned to do this surgery together, but she chickened out. I think she is a bit jealous that I went ahead and did it without her. It was hard not to let her issues and doubts stop me! I have known for awhile that I wanted to do this, but finally just had enough courage to do it. One of the other women at work had it done, and she has been a huge support system for me, and encourager of the surgery. I know I couldn't have done it without her! I am in her room everyday asking her questions and gettin advice. It is nice to have someone a few steps ahead of you right there to go to. She is 18 months out and looks and feels amazing.
