I also am going back to see the counselor that approved my surgery next week it will be great to see him since he hasnt seen me since the pre surgery appt. I also have to see the vascular surgeon next week so will know more of weight loss at that time.

went to see dr today and all went well, Lost 74 lbs so far and within in 10lbs of dr goal. I thought that the weight they told me was the 117 but it is just the percentage of it that is dr goal and i have done great in that but I am determined to get to my goal of 137 now more than anything but every pound that comes off after I reach goal is closer to my goal and will feel glad
hi all just thought i would say a few things to let you all know what has happened so far with me. Had lap RNY on July 5th and got out of hospital on Friday after surgery so was only in hospital for a total of 3 days. Did great on liquid diet and went to follow up appt and then was able to come home. I live 3 1/2 to 4 hours from where I had surgery at so Dr wanted me to stay in the area until followup appt. Was sure glad to get home. I have felt great but i did develop a stricture and had to have a scope done on it but the first scope did not work so had to have it done again the 4th of October. I was on liquid/pureed diet during this time but now i can eat other foods. Mainly staying with the soft diet until I go back up for my three month check next week. Then I should be given the go ahead to start the solid diet. I do have another appt with the dr who did my scope next month to make sure everything is still going okay for me. Anyway I go to the fitness center atleast 4 times a week and sometimes more to get a full workout. I think I am doing great in the exercise area and I can see that I am increasing my workout all the time so I hope it will all workout for me in the long run even if it doesnt it is still good to do. Since surgery I have gotten off most of my meds that I was on before surgery including all my diabetes meds. I did have an A1c done and that was good (non diabetic level). I do take one blood pressure medication now but that is cause of my kidney disease and the dr wants me on that one. I also take coumadin cause of having PAD and have a graph for that. I will update more after Tuesday and let you know a total weight loss for me so far.

sorry i didnt get back in here earlier but things been going on since i went for the three month checkup with Dr. Quaid. I am doing great I have lost 50% of the weight now and that is doing great. I do have to increase protein cause I am losing protein as fast as I take it in due to the kidney disease. So am trying everything i can think of. Went yesterday to talk to the nutritionist also and she gave my pro-stat and that is not to bad so i am seeing about getting that. it is a liquid form so i just put it in my drinks for added protein. i am also using protein bars throughout the day. As far as the stricture goes everything seems to be doing okay right now i have had a few problems but if i dont eat solids for the 24 hours i am usually okay. Just have to remember to stay on the liquids during that time. I still go to the fitness center 5 times a week and do a complete workout lasting about 1 - 2 hours. last sunday i got to wear an outfit that i know i havent wore in about 8 years so that made me feel great. love seeing my clothes getting smaller. My next Dr appt with Quaid is in Jan. and I am hoping that I will be close to goal by then.

Went to see the Kidney specialist yesterday and we talked about alot of things including weight loss I am down now 66 lbs since surgery and a total of 80lbs from highest weight. He doesnt want to have more than 60 grams of protein a day cause that effects the kidneys more so going to watch that again. I will still do my protein bars and protein drink to help keep levels up some. Dr was so surprised at weight loss so far and said he hopes it is not another 30Lbs at next visit in three months I told him i hope it is that puts me closer to goal then.
