Have a Date!
Mar 04, 2009
Wow it has been awhile since I posted. I have had alot go on in last few months with my family that I won't trouble any of you with now, I will just ask for prayers that my family comes through all of this well. Now as for my surgery....I had my EGD on the 24th of Feb and the results were fine, they did find out that I have reflux, but I have no symptoms. All test complete and I am set to have my surgery on the 7th of April. YEEEEAAAAAHHHH!!!!! Dr Johnson will be doing my surgery since Dr Shriver is currently deployed. I'm okay with that he is very nice and I fell very comfortable with him. He wants me to start my pre-op diet on the 28th...1500 cals (4 carnation drinks - 2 for meals and 2 for snacks; 1 reg sensible meal)...doesn't sound too bad, lol. I have my pre-op appt on the 30th. Well I will definetly try and post more often from now on. Have a blessed day.

DIGMA class
Sep 25, 2008
Well I had my WLS class this week. I got the referrals to the nutritionist and psych (appointments are scheduled). We also got told we have to have labs done (did mine), have a gallbladder ultrasound done (scheduled), and we have to attend a WLS support meeting (next one is on 16 Oct). We have to have everything done before we can get our next appointment with the surgeon. The only sad thing was that we were told that once we come back to the surgeon we will be placed on a wait list and right now it is 6-9 months long. One of the Dr is deployed to Iraq right now, he is due back in the next couple of months, but then in Feb Dr Schriver will deploy to Iraq (hence the long wait list). I was hoping to have the surgery before I went back to classes in Jan. As it stands I guess it will be sometime between Apr and July. I'm sure it will all work out and I'll keep praying maybe it will be shorter.
