I clearly don't dump/walking it off.

Mar 16, 2012

I ate some sugary creamy lemony non-cake cake yesterday expecting I might regret it... nope. Part of me is overjoyed, part of me is very angry.

All of me is worried.

I also have been walking every day this week. Feeling good about that. One more day and yea!

I am also looking forward to going white water rafting this summer. It's been awhile... If I can get a job. This is me from 2001. Yep I was nuts.

Cheating already?!

Feb 20, 2012

So my cravings are still here. More over, I have been solving them temporarily with little cheats. A few crackers instead of grilled cheese sandwiches, bagels with cream cheese, and cinnamon-sugar toast. I had a Jamoca Pie from Arby's a few bites at a time over a few days, and have bought a junior jamoca shake that I haven't touched yet. Is this a downward spiral at its birth? No no no.

And I am not supposed to have bread yet either.
Fiber One brownies are my new comfort food too. I must adjust.

Craving madness

Jan 31, 2012

I am dying for a homemade grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup and or some Lipton garlic and butter pasta shells.  I got the fever!

I am almost certain I don't dump, and am seriously thinking of having some tomato soup, which has some really high sugar. I had raisins yesterday, and canned pinapple recently. This may get dangerous if I don't curb my enthusiasm.

I may have to call the nurse tomorrow and tell her to reprogram my brain or I am gonna go off road. Tonight I will chew my pillow.

Swimming for dummies

Jan 28, 2012

I used to swim as a kid. I've done alot of swimming at my gym since my original official diet in 2000-2002 where I had lost 80+ Lbs on my own. Since then diet and swimming happen together. Last real diet a 1 1/2 yrs back, I started a challenge at my gym in May to swim 100 miles before the end of 2010. By Augest both shoulders were hurt very bad several times and I gave it up as it affected my going to work. Now I'm going to try it again. I will try to swim half a mile 4 times a week plus my 2 hr long treading of water. I will make it happen, oh yes. I will NOT get hurt. I am sure?

Sleepy :(

Jan 25, 2012

I called the doc this morning after another horrible night where I couldn't sleep. I tossed and turned so much my bad hurt real bad and I took some Hydrocodone which then knocked me out. I am sitting in an armchair now when I should be at the gym, but I'm exhausted. People can't lose weight like this. On top of that bodies need sleep to lose weight in general. Getting fussy.

Sorry for the half awake rant.

High white blood cell count? Oh no.

Jan 17, 2012

High white blood cell count? Oh no. Dr's appointment in 2 days. Freaking out a little. Could be anything from infection to leukemia. Will hold it together and wait for a second CBC and Dr appointments.

Oh and went to the support group tonight. Good stuff. I can have popcorn if I can stomach it! And there is nothing wrong with my taking nutrametrix isometrix  vitamins.

At the meeting several of us discovered that post surgery we have been feeling very cold especially over night. This is because our metabolisim is different. I did not know that! I thought it was just me! I am not colder... I just feel colder, with freezing cold hands on occastion. It will subside when I hit my goal weight is what I am told.

Plateau no more

Jan 16, 2012

Just when I thought I hit a plateau It's picking back up again.

I go to school and have found myself living a semi sedentary life which is something I'm not supposed to do, so I have devised a plan for at school, and on top of my treading water 2-3 times a week for several hours. I walk on our breaks. A good portion of the classrooms loops, and I kinda look like a fool walking in circles, but I tell people who look at me sideways it's so I stay awake. 15 mins per break at a good clip works.

Now when I'm trying to get the homework done, that's another story. It's bad enough that I interupt it to drink, but I have to make dents, and I save a good portion until the last minute because it is the best study guide there is for me. This is a good portion of my sitting around.

I have also started eatting yogert (fiber One keylime pie) and have increased my water to 70 oz, and my protein is in mid range of 80g.

BMI Tracking

Jan 13, 2012

So I have been tracking my BMI. And recently I went from Super Obeise to Extremely Obeise. Doesn't sound good, but it is a step down. Next step down is at 255Lbs. Thats 61.8 more Lbs to go until I am Obeise. Oh well one victory brings the next challenge. I sense a goal making in my future.

ON WARD!

Protein shake issues

Jan 13, 2012

I am very hard to please when it comes to protein shakes, so I've been shopping around. I recently bought Sytrax Nectar samples and had already bought or tried 4 types.  Here is my check list of good ones and bad ones. I will update the list as I try them:

  • Apple Ecstasy.... Sample. Very BAD, tried with milk.
  • Cappuccino .... Sample. Tried with milk,  very good, will buy soon.
  • Caribbean Cooler.... Own. When mixed with vanilla & milk tolerable. Tastes like pina colada, gets old fast.
  • Chocolate Truffle.... Sample. Good with milk, tastes like hot chocolate.  Will buy soon.
  • Crystal Sky.... Sample. Mixed w/ milk. Easily the best of the fruity drink options. Reminds me of a alcohol drink called Blue Hawaii. I may buy this.
  • Fuzzy Navel.... Sample. Tried with milk. Tolerable and not bad, but weird.
  • Lemon Tea.... Own.  Very tolerable, can drink with milk. Gets old fast. I may buy this again if I have nothing else.
  • Pink Grapefruit.... Sample. Tried with milk, further investigation needed.
  • Roadside Lemonade.... Own. Tried with and without milk, very BAD.
  • Strawberry Kiwi.... Sample. Tried w/ milk. Oddly like the cherry twist.
  • Strawberry Mousse... Sample. Tried w/ milk. Better than strawb flavors I've had. Like strawb icec shake
  • Twisted Cherry... Sample. Tried with milk. tolerable. Sometimes like cherry, sometimes like Pepto-Bismo.
  • Vanilla Bean Torte.... Sample. Tried w/ milk. Better than vanilla favors I've had. Like vanilla bean icecream. I may buy this.

Best advise I've heard plateu peoples...

Jan 09, 2012

This post was on a forum by way of this guy http://www.obesityhelp.com/member/cabin111/

Disregard if you have seen this before. But for you new people who hit a stall for several weeks and feel frustrated that the scale is not moving the copy and paste below may help you...Brian
Below is a copy and paste from DX...very knowledgeable man. It might help.

Still staying on-track calorie-wise? And the scale shows you stopping? Or Even Gaining?!?!? ----------------------------Re-Post Unsolicited advice/info… -------------------------------------- Pull back from your ‘daily’ charting, and look at a weekly or even monthly. There are up and down spikes each day, But if you ‘graph’ the highest to the lowest, I’d bet there is still A downward slope over the course of the month. There’s an 8 to 10lb. volume of "wiggle room" due to water alone. And it comes into play a lot. This has to do with our bodies using glycogen for short term energy storage. Glycogen is not very soluble, But it is stored in our muscles for quick energy – One pound of glycogen requires 4 lbs of water to keep it soluble, And the average glycogen storage capacity is about 2 lbs. So, when you are not getting in enough food, (Like when you drop down to your calorie intake) Your body turns first to stored glycogen, Which is easy to break down for energy. And when you use up 2 lbs of glycogen, You also lose 8 lbs of water that was used to store it Voila -- the "easy" 10 lbs that most people lose in the first week of any diet. As you stay in caloric deficit, however, Your body starts to ‘realize’ that this is not a short term problem. You start mobilizing fat from your adipose tissue And burning fat for energy. But your body also ‘realizes’---- (by way of your liver releasing hormones signaling low Cal intake) ---That fat can't be used for short bursts of energy – Like, to outrun a saber-tooth tiger. So, it starts converting some of the fat into glycogen, And rebuilding the glycogen stores. And as it puts back the 2 lbs of glycogen into the muscle, 8 lbs of water has to be stored with it to keep it soluble. So, even though you might still be LOSING energy content to your body, (Thus showing negative Calorie load overall) Your weight will not go down or you might even GAIN for a while As you retain water to dissolve the glycogen that is being reformed and stored. Yes? The whole ‘weight-loss’ process is not a straight "Slide" down the scale. More like "Stair-Steps," (Down then forward, then down, then forward, etc... As your body cycles fat out of "deep storage" and through the Liver Into the muscles as Glycogen. The muscles and Liver can hold about a 3 weeks supply. This is why many people find that their "Stall" or "Plateau" Breaks when adding a bit of exercise And upping their water intake, or in the case of an "extreme exerciser," The total Calorie or Protein Intake, To signal the liver to let go of more Glycogen. Fear not, many people who are now enjoying life at a normal BMI Once had a few weeks or so of thinking- "...my weight loss has been awfully slow, has it stopped..."? Hope this helps some. You are doing Great! Keep it Up! Best Wishes-Mike Wazowski Dx
