Angela, i feel for you, i know the prospect of facing post op life without anyone to assist you , especially without family cn be hard , What about your church? or is there a support group in your area you could talk to ? if not one for surgery , what about for single mothers? thinking here, visiting nurses association , local teenager you can hire for a week , though in all honesty, having it lap will help a lot, i think you should try to get some help for that first week home is your doctor local to you ? i have heard of some of the physician having visitng nurses who help out for the first week or so ....... i would just do what youre doing here, reach out , you dont even have to tell folks what the surgery is for , just "stomach surgery" should be enough , if youre concerned abotu that ... i like others ideas about a neighbor , too ! you must have someone you can reach out to maybe not for 24/7 help, but at least drop in and see how youre doing , or call you ... Best of luck ! Blessings

Perhaps you have a neighbor or close friend that could lend a hand? Or maybe you could freeze a few meals before surgery for the kids that you could pop in the micro.(What would we do without them?) Explain to them that it will be so nice once you are all healed up to play with them but until then you will need lots of help. I am sure you will do fine. Wish I was closer to lend you a hand. Best wishes.

Hi, Angela: I'm sure you're gonna be fine with the kids when you get home. You'll tire easily, but at least they're not toddlers, and can fairly well fend for themselves. I'm sure they will be a tremendous help to you, also. I honestly think you'll do just fine! Good luck, and God Bless!
