Hello!

Mar 15, 2011

So I haven't been on here in a long time! We ran into some financial problems moved in with in laws then moved in with other family .. since December. During that time I had no computer access, and with two small kids it was just annoying to any public use computers to keep updating my wls. NOW we are on our feet (some what) and in our own place again! yay!
Here is a break down of my weight loss since Nove 8th day of surgery..well when I would remember to write it down. Since I was living with family I couldn't really work out as much as I wanted to, and I feel that you can tell! I have some lose skin mainly in the arms and legs..BUT I have a pool in my apartment complex and a YMCA just around the corner so no more excuses!
Other then that I have been doing good.. I can eat most foods and I'm doing good with remembering to take my vitamins. I have been losing A LOT of hair and it started to freak me out. My doctor said to take fish oil, by opening the gel pill with a neddle and putting in a spoon and drinking it.. uh yeah it is as gross as it sounds and you taste fish for the rest of day no matter what you ate or drink. So I went and got Biotin and I notice less hair loss.. but when I forget to take it OMG I lose so much ! I think I may take 2nd one during the day just to see what the results are. I do still drink protein shakes every once in a while especially when I start to feel sluggish and feel like I'm coming down with a cold.. it seems to help make that go way.. or maybe it's just me thinking that.. lol well any way here is my break down and hopefully I will put up some full body shots up soon.. I still have lots of unpacking to do! OH and I'm a size 13/14 now. yay me! lol

Thanksgiving

Nov 26, 2010

Thanksgiving eve we went to my sister's home and had dinner there, I had mashed potatoes with some green beans. Thanksgiving day went okay.. My family went to Denny's for breakfast. I had a med-over easy egg from my husband's plate , who was very happy that our bill was only 12 bucks ! For the first time we didn't spend $30.00 plus dollars eating out!  Later we went to the park and then to my parent's home where I just made a take home plate for my husband and son and had mashed potatoes again for dinner. I'm still working on drinking 64 ounces of water a day but it's super hard. I miss the days where I could just gulp water down with no pain. I'm still having some pain from the incisions, I'm not sure if that is normal almost 3 weeks out. I always read how people are doing things and back to work around this time, but I can't seem to do laundry without hurting.  ahhh who knows guess everyone heals differently and at their own pace??

Update

Nov 22, 2010

Hello, So Friday Nov 19Th I went to my 3 week follow up with my doctor's assistant. Everything seems to be going good he said and said I can start my soft foods phase a few days earlier. I still have the rash from the allergic reaction I had from the tapes. It hurts a lot, mainly annoying if anything. I put a cold pack on it to make the itchiness go away. I'm giving it til' Wed. if it doesn't go away by then I'll have to call the doctor's office and ask what I should put on it. Thanksgiving news:  Doctor advised to stay away from turkey.. but i told him the dietitian advised I could, he said he doesn't think I should. So I'm not going to.

Saturday I went to my niece's birthday party and that was really tough! Being around all that food and CAKE! I knew I wasn't hungry it was more of a mental thing then anything. I did take my can of soup with me but didn't want to cook it in the middle of the party in front of everyone, so I had some beans from the 7 layer dip they had, of course I took all the other stuff off and no chips , just beans. I was able to keep it down I felt like it was stuck in my throat for a bit, but that passed. I also had a piece of Turkey slice meat, very small and I was able to keep that down too.  SO today for lunch I had my husband go to Taco Bell for some beans and I was able to keep that down too.. and I felt full faster then just having the soup. My mom will be making homemade re-fried beans for me on Thanksgiving so I plan to eat that and some steam veggies and mashed potatoes .. I'm just glad I can have soft foods now! lol! Well I Wish all of you a Happy  and Safe Thanksgiving! xAndrea

Feeling Better..

Nov 18, 2010

Had my surgery on Monday 11/8/10. Everything is going good so far, keeping my liquids down and getting sick of cream of chicken soup. I found out today I can have Malt O' Meal, Oatmeal and cottage cheese. I was super excited, but now have to wait til payday again to go grocery shopping since we did just the day before! The Friday after my surgery I had hard time breathing,  I guess I had a panic attack.I went to the hospital just to make sure it wasn't a blood clot..everything came back clear. I go to my doctor's office tomorrow to get my strips removed from my belly. I have been having a skin irritation with them lifting up. On Monday I see my doctor and find out if I'm okay to go onto soft foods, which I found out I can have meatloaf on the last few weeks of the the soft foods phase..I also found out I can have mashed potatoes and turkey on thanksgiving BUT I need to make sure it's moist and super small pieces and I MUST CHEW a lot! I'm kinda afraid to try but excited I have the option. I am having a hard time sleeping.. I wake up around 3 am and cant go back to bed. I'm feeling really tired and I think that's one stage of this, I know I need to drink more of my protein shakes which I have started doing today. Okay, well I'll post more after my doctors visits.
