Well now that I am friends with my blender I am seeing a whole new world beyond the "liquid stage"~lol! Some things have agreed with me and some things haven't(we won't even go there!). Anyway in two days I get to move onto "soft foods"~yeah~I get cheese sticks! Things have been moving great in the weight loss department~so far I am down 31 pounds(of course that's including my PAT weights and my IV weight gain) but a loss is a loss right~and I've put on shorts and pants that I haven't had on in five years~yahoo! So here's to all of us losers~for once !

Hi Everyone as you know I had my surgery last  Weds July 25th,one week ago from today.I came home Friday afternoon w/o much pain.I really wasn't in much pain;the only problem was that I kept having foamies come out of my mouth and didn't feel like eating due to this.So they put me on some prescriptions for vomiting and gas.Seemed to work.Well by Sat. evening I was sicker than a dog with diah.(UGH)!!! We finally called the Dr. on Sun an put me on Immodian AD(thank god!).Since then everthing has been going well;except for this "lovely"drain that I can't wait to get out next week! I had the best nursing/hopsital care hands down~they were caring and compassionate~and I've had surgeries before but I can tell  you  that the staff at groveport truly have you in their hearts when they take care of you~I even nicknamed three of the nurses after I found out they were all sisters "the sister squad"(Cheryl,Merrilee,and Nancy~they were awesome!) but I can't leave out my pre-op and post -op Brenda,Angela and Mitch~truly the best place to go! Ohh and when I went in for my pre-op surgery weigh in I had lost 11 lbs doing my liquids~of course I gained 10lbs back from the surgery;and I haven't gotten near a scale yet~I'm waiting until next week when the drain comes out~

Whew things are going by fast~I had my PAT's on Friday and I am scheduled for my surgery on Weds. July 25th! Soon I will be on the loser side~keep me in your thoughts and prayers for that day!

Well my insurance company approved me for my surgery~thank god! I had my sleep test done and that turned out to be normal. Now i am scheduled to do my psych. eval. on July 12th. After that I'm hoping to get scheduled to be on the sugery books~let's keep our fingers crossed that everything goes well on the psych. eval.! Hopefully I can have this surgery before summer is over~it would be great to have it in August~we'll see.It would make for a great birthday present for me!

Okay I'm new at this~ALL of this~I went for my consult to Barix Ohio on May 23.I had over 10 yrs.of weight diet history with me etc..The dr. said I had to have a sleep consult and a psych. eval done.Then Vicki called from Barix Ins. to say that I needed to show my 5 yrs weight history for my insurance company(UHC). So I got that and faxed that to her. I went yesterday for my sleep consult,and they think I have sleep apnea by how my mouth is closed off inside.I do my sleep test on Monday night(oh fun!) and we'll go from there. I  still have to get a name of a pschycologist in the Cols. area who can do a psych eval. on me. If anyone knows of one,please let me know.Also if anyone has used Dr. Custer and has any opinions,good or bad,please let me know. As I understand he will be my surgeon since he was the Dr. that I had my first consult with,is that correct? Right now I'm in limbo waiting and hoping that I get approved! If anyone has any information of what I can do to expediate the situation,who to call etc. let me know. It would be nice to hear form other WLS people and everything that we go through etc..
