Hackensack University Medical Center

"The nurses in the GI floor were great. Very positive and responsive. Some had even had WLS themselves. The only time I felt uncomfortable was in recovery, but I believe that had more to do with me coming out of anesthesia. Dealing with the gas pain and surgery pain itself. They medicate you up as you wake up. I kinda wished they had just let me wake up in my room and morphined me. But most hospitals do it this way. so it is what it is. once i was awake enough I was on the GI ward. They were awesome there. I had pain meds when I needed it via the bad and injections, i had respitory ppl to give me nebulizer treatments and nurses giving me ice chips. I was up and moving quite quickly actually. Moving is what makes you feel the best too rids the gas and air from your system."
