"My first impression was not great. I saw him speak at his support group meetings, but I didn't get to meet him personally until my surgery was actually scheduled. It is not easy to get an appointment with him, and he will likely have you waiting in his waiting room a loooonnng time. Bring a book to read while you wait, because he is definately worth it!! Also, I was a bit put off by the almost cult-like following he has of former patients - they are all so pro-Dr. Bell that that I figured something wasn't right. But I was wrong! Now I am a believer too. My feelings about Dr. Bell are much different now that I am on the "losing side." I can see that he is so much in demand that he has to follow a very specific regimen or else he would never have time away from the hospital. Yes, I waited in his waiting room much longer than I ever really wanted to. But once I finally got my turn, he was the most patient and informative doctor I have ever had. He really cares! And here is a great secret ... Dr. Bell answers his emails very quickly - usually within 2 or 3 hours. If you really need him quickly, that is your best bet. If you read my profile, you will see that I have had an easy time of this whole surgery. I know there are many negative stories out there about other patients and other surgeons, but my surgery was a breeze. I give complete credit for my quick recovery and great results to Dr. Bell. "

Yale-New Haven Hospital

"Yale just rocks! Anyone considering where to go would be very well served to choose this hospital. They are clearly one of the best in the country, as far as quality of staff. But I also loved how attentive they are to the patient's family and visitors. They have cheap valet parking, a world-class and reasonably priced cafeteria, a beautiful atrium with a rainbow-inducing fountain and lots of comfortable seating. But most unbelieveable to me and my family was the free snacks and light-classical musician to entertain the families in the ICU waiting room. Yale is just a class act all around, and I am thrilled to recommend it based on my experience."
