Well, I am a 32 year old Army veteran.  I have been struggling with my weight most of my adult life.  Like I said I was in the Army for 11 years and I still struggled with my weight.  I worked out 5-6 days a week for almost two hours for 11 years straight and the weight still kept coming on.  I would maybe lose a little but then put it back on plus some.  I am currently about 100+ lbs over weight and I have tried every diet out there, from the oh so popular Hoodia diets to the Atkins diet to Nutrisystem and many many in between.  My family has been so wonderful and supportive, but I can't deny it any longer  and neither can they, I have to do something.  Diabetes and heart disease runs on both sides of my family and not to mention so does obesity, so I really am serious about doing something to get my weight down before I end up six feet under.
I know that wls is not a magic drug or solution and I realize that it will be hard work, but if I can make it through the physical and emotional demands of being on Acitve Duty for 11 years I can make this happen.
Okay, so after an up and down year, but I am back and on the journey again to being a bandster.  I have a check up with my surgeon on Sept 17th and I am fairly certain I will then have my surgery date.  I am so ready for this I can hardly wait.  I am really glad that there is a place where I can go and write down my thoughts and questions.
Well, I have now been approved and am scheduled for surgery on October 30th !  YEAH.
Thanks for listening!
