Hello. My name is Amy Slebodnik. I am 20 years old and a recent newlywed. I married the most wonderful guy, David, last September 23rd. Things have been going great. I have been overweight for the majority of mylife. Stresses and other things have caused my weight to fluctuate over the years. One of the most important people in my life, my stepdad, almost died a year ago August from a major heart attack. Those of you that live locally might remember seeing the article in the Skagit Valley Herald newspaper or even the news. My younger siblings gave him CPR and saved his life. Needless to say the past year has been stressful but an extreme eye opener. I realized it was time to do something about my weight problem, and if I want to live I needed to change. I want to have children of my own so bad some day and I knew I wouldn't be able to do that if I didn't change.
Of course there are so many emotional changes that come along with WLS and this is somewhat of a touchy subject for me. Luckily I surround myself with wonderful caring people and they are my support system. I am sure they will all greatly help me along this new journey.
I am greatly looking forward to this journey and I can't wait to see what the future holds for me!
