Amy H.
My name is Amy. I live in Sunny,
I have had many challenges through out my 38 years. Some self made and some just happening in life. I have conquered many things and am ready for the ones to come.
I have had 13 abdominal surgeries in the past 21 years. The past four surgeries are the result of the 9 that came before. The past four have been incisional hernia surgeries. I have been in recovery from Drugs and Alcohol for more than 13 years. I lost my mother in 2001. All of these things have happen and I have become stronger because of them… but there is one thing that I can’t seem to overcome. MY WEIGHT!
As many of your stories, I too have struggled my entire life with my weight. It seems to be the one thing I carry around with me no matter what. Although I view myself as a wonderful person, a loyal friend and a devoted daughter and mother, there is this place inside of me that is very unhappy. I am ready to change and make a new beginning for myself. I am almost there and I can’t wait. I am ready for whatever lays ahead of me, and I am grateful that I have found a place where there seems to be much support and compassion for each other.
My highest weight was 276 just 6 months ago. I have been on this journey for sometime and am now ready to open the door to the lifelong change beginning with WLS.
All I have left to do is sit and wait for my insurance to authorize my procedure!!
On January 18th, 2008 all of my paper work was sent to my insurance company by the
