My seminar is scheduled for May 16th! My first step towards taking my life back.
I started out a skinny young thing but after four kids and a long tumultuous relationship I packed on over 200lbs in 12 years! I looked into surgery years ago when I first started hearing about it but never got further than emails with doctors because NO ONE was accepting any type of Medicaid. I gave up. I resigned myself to being fat for the rest of my life. I've sacrificed my happiness for my family for so long that I just gave up.
After 19 years of living in Florida we decided to make a move. Our town had taken a bad turn after being nearly destroyed by Ivan so we packed up and moved to a small town in Tennessee. I can't tell you what brought me back to this website or why I started researching WLS again. I was ecstatic to learn that there are surgeons here that work with Medicaid and after emailing around and reading the boards here I have scheduled my seminar and hopefully in the months to come I will get my surgery date. I am opting for the DS because it's success rate is fantastic and life long as opposed to the other surgeries.
I want people to look at me in the eyes again. I want to cross my legs. I want to wear clothes fit for my age and not a grandma. I want to go to my kids schools and not have kids talk about their "fat mom." I want to dance again. I want to wear real shoes. I want to look at myself in the mirror for longer than 10 seconds.
I hope to do all these things in the near future. I will never give up on myself again
