So...Recieved an email stating that the surgery is not a procedure that is covered under my insurance policy...though I spoke with Aetna prior to my consultation and was told that so long as the surgery was deemed medically necessary that it would be covered... I'm just hoping that this is all due to a lack of documentation... keeping my fingers crossed.

I have a doctors appointment on Tuesday to set things up with my nutrionist and exercise therapist... maybe my primary care doctor can offer some insight...

So I spoke with the insurance company again today and was told the same thing...that it would be covered if deemed medically necessary.. But this time they told me that I need to provide them with my past 5 years of weight history... So tomorrow that will be the goal at my dr. appt....hopefully he will have all the documentation I need.  I'm still worried that it will not be enough to convince them so I am working on finding other ways as well... any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I met with my Primary Care Doctor on Tuesday... Basically he really had nothing to offer me since my records from 2002 said i only was at 180... but still... that damn weight...  The highest he had was in 2004 when I was at 195...But anything will help I suppose...He told me that he would be more than willing to write a letter of recommendation for me to have the surgery since he knows my family well and is aware of the risks I have for Heart Disease, High Blood Pressure AND Diabetes...  All those things run in my family...And they are definitely a possibility.... I meet back with him in  2 weeks... But for now just trying to gather what I can from the past 3 years I spent in NC...Hopefully something beneficial will come from that...

Still keeping my fingers crossed...
