"Dr. Esti was informative, answered all my questions and did not rush through the initial consulation as some doctors are known to do. He smiled and was friendly while maintaining a doctor/patient distance. His office staff is wonderful! They are caring & sympathetic. Aftercare was emphasized even more than the surgery itself. Dr. Esti stressed the importance of regular checkups, bloodwork, participation in a support group, necessity of following the post surgery diet and a regular exercise program. Dr. Esti has a support group for surgical patients which meets once a month. Participation in this group is, I believe, mandatory for post surgical patients and recommended for pre-surgical patients. Risks of surgery were addressed in a pre-consultation video as well as being reinforced during the consultation visit. The risks were not glossed over and great emphasis was put on the fact that while complications vary from patient to patient, they do happen. I would rather not "rate" Dr. Esti until after my surgery... In order of importance, surgical competence wins out, but a great bedside manner doesn't hurt!"
