Well, here i am 4 days post-op and all in all feel like i am doing well. I got home yesterday. Thank God for watching over me. <b> I am tolerating full liquids without difficulty. I have been up and aroud since a few hours after surgery. Boy was I a hurtin puppy. Those abdominal muscle spasms are killer. I must admit I did cuss but the walking helped. My incision is looking good, My surgeon doesn't use external sutures or staples so all I have are steri-strips. He did not remove my gall baladder, so no drains. I had my friend Cathy in the room next door, so we did get to visit some. I also met a post-op who had her surgery last July, she had a ruptured appendix and was having a hard time but did come to visit with me. She has lost approx 110 lbs. and stated that she has felt great up until now.<b> I still have back pain, i guess from being strapped to that table, and my abdomen also still hurts at times but not too bad. i don't know which weight I am supposed to go by so am waiting until my 2 week checkup to post any progress.<B> Also wanted to say thank you to my Granty Ann for being my angel, bless her heart, she hasn't felt well but took the time to make the posts. Also wanted to thank all of you that posted to my surgery page with your words of support and wisdom. It was very helpful and greatly appreciated. So now the other part of the ride begins and I am looking forward to it. Thanks to the Lord for bringing me home safe, may he bless and keep us all. Dena

I just spoke with Dena W.'s mom, my sister. I had intended to call her and talk with her myself, but I guess her first post-op day hasn't been much to write home about. Her mother tells me her nurse explained that tomorrow will be much better. I know she is fine and with all the prayers and kind thoughts from everyone she will be a success story, it is just going to take some time. She appears to be getting the best of care so I will wait until tomorrow and call her and let all know tomorrow night how she is faring. Again thank you for all the love and support you have shown to her. She is a sweetheart!

Dena finally made it to surgery yesterday afternoon. According to her mother and sister who were able to be with her she was doing well and everything went well with the surgery. Her mom, my sister, is to call me today and update me on how she is feeling post-op and let me know when I can call her myself! I'm so excited for her and know she is a "success story" in the making. Love to Dena from her Granty Ann.

Dena, Moving forward towards a healthy way of living is a commendable thing. Having the courage to take charge of your life is what this surgery is all about. You will have the energy to get down and play with your son. In the next few months your husband and child will be amazed at all of the changes that you will undergo. God speed. KimmieTN
