JoAnn, Best of luck and congratulations on taking control of your health and life. I was a little shocked when you said your company laid you off to avoid your lost time from surgery. Somehow I think that is illegal and discriminatory and they can't do that. You should check with a civil rights attorney, your union at work if you have one, and Equal Opportunities Employment Act.
