Hi Debbie: I am sheryl in NM. I am 3 1/2 months post op. I am eating from 4oz. to 6 oz. right now depending on wheather I eat soft foods such as boiled eggs, cottage cheese, refreied beans and cheese etc. I can eat as much as 1 cup at a time. If I eat meat and a fresh vegie I can eat about 3 oz of meat and about 4 pieces of broccali and cauliflower and salad dressing. that is it. I am still able to go 4 to 5 hours between meals. I eat about 4 meals a day now.I lost 77 lbs sofar and 5 cloathingsizes sofar. last month I only lost 8 lbs. but I figure it was just because I had lost a total of 147 lbs since preparing for surgery in Feb.My body just needs time to adjust. I walk about 20 min a day now. I feel that you are probably loosing Ok so far but if you are worried you should talk to you surgeon about your concerns. Sheryl OPEN RnY July 22, 2002 516/453/377/160

Hi Debbie, Thank you so much for your post! It was very nice to hear from someone so close to home. I'm so so sorry about the complications you had. I'm not sure If I could have made it through all that with such good spirits. I had slight complications. Just mainly LOTS AND LOTS OF PAIN. I had problems emptying my bladder, and I had a big problem getting out what went in, if you know what I mean. They gave me meds to help my bladder contract, and suppositories for the other. I was able to come home sat. evening 10/26 I'm am having a hard time, very discouraged, but its getting better. Praise God! please keep in touch with me. Take care. and good luck.

Sorry to hear that your surgery has not been uneventful. But at least the Dr's caught it fast right. God bless you during your journey. I am praying that that you will be up and running soon.

Debbie, I am very sorry to hear about your leak. I haven't had surgery yet, so I don't know anything about it. However, I am praying for you and hoping you get better very soon.
