"I called his office and spoke with Becky. She was very pleasant and said that she will send me an information package. I've also been dealing with Debbie, his program coordinator and Aryssia, the surgical coordinator. His office staff is very helpful.
I went to an information seminar conducted by Dr. Carlos Carrasquilla on May 15, 2002. He is extremely knowledgable. He answered everyone's questions. Some of his post-op patients showed up at the meeting and talked to us, which all of us really appreciated. He's very easy to talk to and is concerned about the patient's welfare. I talked to him after the meeting and he listened to my concerns and answered my questions. He didn't rush me or try to brush me off in any way.
I have my first office visit scheduled for June 13, 2002.
I met with Dr. English and he is also extremely knowledgable. He is very thorough and explains everything. He also makes sure that you are in the best possible health before surgery. He is truly concerned about the patient's welfare."
"The hospital has a unit for bariatric surgery patients, which is great. It allows you to meet people who have had the surgery also and to provide support to one another.
The main negative parts were the parking, which is horrible, and some, not all, of the nursing and patient care staff. Most of the staff is great, but some could use some lessons in bedside manner."
