Mar7,2005 I am 33yo and 5'4,251lbs with a current BMI of somewhere in the neighborhood of morbid obesity ( I think its like 43)Anyways I started gaining weight when I was around 16 and it has been a steady upward climb ever since then..this is the most I have ever weighed. I have a 10mo. old son whose name is Aidan and was conceived after many years of infertility due to the fact that I have PCOS which i believe was a major contributor to my weight gain.I know many people who have had this surgery and feel that I have a good understanding of what to expect even though some of it scares the heck out of me. I am definitely someone who eats out of boredom and I am also a social eater..I always eat when I get together with my friends, also my boyfriend,Chris, and I always are going out to eat so I know that will have to change. Its scary to think I will lose my best friend(food) but I am also thinking of what I will gain. Right now I can't even go for a walk more than 2 days in a row because after I do my feet ,ankles, knees are in soooo much pain. I recently got a membership to curves and was unable to keep going because I hurt my back after the first day. I had back surgery in 1998 and this extra weight that I carry in the front has made life definitely unbearable. So that all being said I attended a seminar held at St Rahaels in New Haven on Feb 26 and today I recieved a call from Dr Valin's office for an appt. on Mar9.. I AM SO EXCITED!!! I hope the ball keeps rolling so that I can start this journey to the other side. Well I will try to keep this as updated as possible but my baby is 10mo and already walking so he can be a handful..LOL Good luck to all
