Well. It has been a year and I am down from 258 to 149. I have never been happier! I've never been skinnier! To all those who are contemplating the surgery...keep in mind...it's hard work, it's not the easy way out, but it's soooo worth it!!!

Congratulations on your surgery, I trust all went well for you! I have some Zen Wisdom for you - Nothing exists but momentarily...One thing flows into another...observe things as they are, let everything go as it goes. This is to put everything under control in its widest sense. --- May God keep you close to his side as you travel your new journey. You will have ups and downs. You can always turn to us, your AMOS family, we will give support, comfort and encouragement. You will find this will be the best thing you could ever have done for yourself as well as your family. I know that was true for me. I pray for a speedy and easy recovery for you. Don’t forget to update your profile at least monthly. We all like to see how we are doing!!! Make sure you take pictures. It’s great to see the new you emerge!!! Not to mention the look on YOUR face when you look at those pictures and compare them in a few months! It’ll be a BIG WOW!!! Please remember too, that this is a *tool* to use. Make sure you use it wisely. The first year it’s pretty easy, after that I’ve been hearing (I’m not speaking from experience as I’m not a year out yet) that it gets increasingly difficult. Hi Sarah! Congrats on having your surgery! Let the weight loss begin!! I bet you feel relieved now. It's over and now you are on the other side and can join the ranks of the losers. Welcome, my friend!!! Happy RE-Birthday to you! From this day forward you life will change forever. Just try to take it easy and remember to sip, walk, deep breathe and cough. Take those pain pills and splint the tummy! These first few days are rough, but I assure you they get better with each passing day. Some days those emotions will resurface and try to get the best of you, but just remember what you’ve been through to get this far! I’m sure you’ll be proud of what you’ve accomplished!! You know you can always come here and get a dose of confidence and good will! We will still be here to support you and cheer you on as the pounds come off! I just wanted you to know that I was thinking about you today and that you are in my thoughts and prayers for an uncomplicated, swift recovery. You are an official loser!! Hi Sarah! Welcome to the AMOS site! I’m so glad you found us and I hope you are learning a lot about the surgeries. We are like a family here. We’re here to support each other, lend an ear and not judge. Many people are here to help you along the way. Don’t be afraid to ask questions! We are all in different phases of our weight loss and can offer you many different opinions. Check out the site as it has so much information. You’ve made a wise choice joining AMOS and wanting to have WLS. You deserve a better quality of life. So, be diligent, do your research and decide what’s right for you.
