Vickie, first off---STOP WEIGHING YOURSELF!! Get that scale out of the house if you can. I'm just 4 months post op and my first plateau hit at 3 weeks post-op, lasting more than 2 weeks. I didn't gain, but I didn't lose either. So many people were kind enough to write me with their advice, and this is what I learned: the scale is not your friend, you can fluctuate in weight 2-3 lbs. on any given day depending on how much fluids you're taking in, when you last had a bowel movement, whether you're getting ready for your period....etc, etc, etc. Getting yourself al depressed by stepping on a scale everyday is not good for you. Once a month weighing is all that's necessary to show yourself that you are losing and that this surgery does work! As long as you are making sure you are drinking at least 64 ozs. water a day, and eating at least 60 grams of protein a day, then you are doing all the right things. Walking regularly is helpful too. Believe me, I know what you are feeling, and learning not to get on the scale more than once a month has really helped my moods. I'm down almost 70 lbs. now since July 9th, and some weeks the scale will show no loss, and some weeks the scale shows a big loss. But over the course of the long run, it's always gone down. THROW THAT SCALE AWAY!
