"I called Dr. Marema's office in Ft. Lauderdale, and I decided to go to the Orientation meeting they require. It was a 4 1/2 hour drive, but well worth it! Everybody was so helpful! Dr. Marema actually was there to give the entire presentation, which I really liked. He went over all the pros and cons and took the time to answer many questions from the group. He seemed very personable and very knowledgable, and has had the surgery himself as well as many of his office staff. I have heard so many good things about him, and have definitely decided to go with him as my surgeon. I have to attend a 3 hour class on the 24th, a psych. evaluation on the 20th, and get the actual surgery approval before I can set an appt. to meet with him. Because I live so far away, I would liked to have seen them be able to "coordinate" appts. a little better, so I could accomplish more than just one thing each time I have to take a day off of work and drive down there.(which is what i have am having to do now) Kinda frustrating, but I liked everything else about him, and am sure I made the right choice.
