Cara, Just want to send you my well wishes for a speedy recovery...My surgery with Dr McConnell is Nov 27th...and I like you, can hardly wait. Your writings have been an inspiration to me...I will start on the vitamins..and the water...I am very very happy for you. I am sorry to read about your PCP not accepting or supporting your decision to have the surgery. Anyway...Best of luck to you...we will all be watching for your first post op...posting to this site... :-)

Good luck to you Cara. The best thing I can tell you is, I worried so much prior to my surgery date (9/6/00), and now, looking back, it just wasn't bad enough to warrant all that panic. Yeah, I guess it hurt, but like all pain, you forget all about it not long afterwards. So... don't sweat it.... you'll be great!

Congratulations on your surgery date :) I'm an Oregonian too.. btw.. I have Providence Health Plan too and they are paying for mine.. Did you try going to Dr. Eric Friedman? He is a member of PHP and I think the only doctor on the plan who does this surgery.. Might be worth a try.. I have diabetes.. I think that is why they approved it so fast for me.. send me e-mail if you would like to discuss further..:)
