San Joaquin Community Hospital

"The beginning process, like preregistration etc, was fine. Check in the morning of surgery was fine. The nurses and staff were wonderful. Then after awaking from surgery and being put it my room it was a nightmare. You caouldn't sleep because your IV machine would be beeping because it needed something for 45 minutes or longer(most the time you had to call them to the room) I would ask for pain meds and would either have to wait an hour or ask over and over or not get them at all, WHICH YES did happen. I kept having to tell them what the next step was. My 3rd day in hospital I was still getting ice chips, I had to tell them I was supposed to be on clear liquids. Had to fight to get them to take the catheder out. They never came and unplugged me to walk. I figured out how to unplug my IV machine walked by myself(after OPEN RNY) and then when I got back to my room I plugged it back in and started it up. CRAZY HUH. I have had 2 other in patient procedures (Both Open) and they were great experiences. But this experience would make me learry of having surgery again. I DEFINATELY would not go to San Joaquin EVER AGAIN."

Hormuz Irani

"My first impression of Dr. Irani and his office was very positive. My mother inlaw had gall bladder surgery with him several years ago and really liked him. Everyone at his office is very kind and friendly. I went for my orientation on 2/4/05 and my surgery is scheduled for 3/30/05. The office staff especially Karen is wonderful. A LOT overworked so at times you have to stay on top of things yourself, but I have to say I am a little impatient so maybe its just me. LOL Dr. Irani is very complete and explains all the pros and cons of the surgery. There is also a PA that came in and went over everything as well. "
