Hi you wonderful people. I'm finaly home and able to update. My surgery was on Monday the 18th and it went well. great! infact. Uneventful and boring. God and Dr. Lindsay did a fine job it lasted only about 2 hours. Monday was what I had expected, demerol makes me nasuated but works on the pain, phenegren works on nasuea but makes me sleep. Tuesday was much better and Wednesday Dr.Lindsay would have sent me home, BUT I asked for another day not wanting to go to my Dad's UN-Air-conditioned house. So She kept me an extra day. And it was a GOD thing too. Dry heaves aren't very enjoyable and being stuck 8 times (total before and after surgery)to start an IV isn't to great either. But I had the best Dr. and nurses on the face of this earth. ANGELS Anyway more phenegren and more sleep the Doc sent me home to Ashland on Sat. And I agree with everyone out there that says the clear liquid stage is the pits. I couldn't drink much of anything. Bad move more weakness and for me you guessed it NASUEA. But my dear sweet friends brought me Pedialyte and chicken noodle soup Broth. It's much much better than bullion cubes. Thanks Nurse (amos sister) Char! Today I returned to Indiana Dr. Lindsay removed my staples and moved me on to the full liquids/ soft food stage. Yea Yea I like mush and tomato soup Mush is Goood But a loss of 16 pounds is much sweeter. Thanks for caring and sharing and sorry for the long post. But Hey, I'm just a loser. God Blesses, Vicki
