Bellin Health

"Had my mother not been with me everyday to help bath and care for me, I believe the stay would have been a disaster. The nite nurses didn't always check the new Dr. orders and my Mother had to keep questioning them so they would follow the new orders."

Cynthia Geocaris

"Dr. Cindy is in practice w/her father Dr. Tom Geocaris. Their practice has started a bariatric program w/Bellin Hospital in May 2001. The program is new but they've been doing bariatric surgeries for over 20 years. (At least Dr. Tom has, Dr. Cindy has been in practive w/him since 10/2000). Together w/Bellin nutricents, Bellin fitness center and a Bellin psychologist, they have developed a post-op program designed to support the bariatric patient. Because the program is new, I believe that they have a ways to go in developing a strong program. They are learning and improving as they go. Both Dr. Cindy and Dr. Tom are friendly and informative. I've been confident in their knowledge and ability because Dr. Cindy takes her time w/me, Answering all of my questions and making sure that I understand those answers. She'd also error on the side of being over cautious than have something happen to me...when I got sick post-op she told me "I won't let you get any sicker, don't worry" and she didn't. Dr. Cindy responds timely and usually in person, when I've contacted her in between appts. I've been able to develope a comfortable relationship w/Dr. Cindy and this helps immensely to increase my confidence in her ability. Dr. Cindy's staff has not always been the best to work with. I too often am given the impression that they are too busy. I responded to this by being extrememly friendly and thankful yet assertive about my needs. It's taken several contacts but I think they're coming around and are more accomodating to my needs now. "
