10/9/01 Here I am, 2 weeks post op. I am doing great, no dumping, no leaks, no problem swallowing...etc. I am still moving a little slow, know I will feel better once they get this drain out of me and take out my stitches. I don't go back until the 18th, 9 more days. Thaks again to those who posted to my surgery page. And good luck to those having surgery soon.

10-2-01 Well, one week exzactly and I am feeling really good. Great, is a ways off. I can't believe how well everything has gone. The surgery lasted about 6hrs according to my DH. I was back in my room and sitting up in my chair before the night was over.(not necessarily by choice). Had a lot of trouble with nausiea, but never threw up. Had a problem with the morphine, but once they changed to another pain med, I didn't have any more trouble with that. This my first try at the puter since I got home. So I am going to cut it short. Just wanted to thank all who posted to my page. Will try to answer as soon as i'm up to it. Later

Leslie~Yay, you made it. I am sorry that you are having a couple of bad days. I am sure that soon you can look at this as just a short memory. Feel better. Hope your next post is from home. Best wishes during your recovery:)

LESLIES CONDITION IS IMPROVING.. WEDNESDAY SHE WAS SUFFERING FROM A MIGRAINE AND NAUSEA, WHICH SHE THOUGHT WAS BROUGHT ON BY HER FIBROMYALGIA. (LAST NIGHT THE BED WAS THE CULPRIT...WITH A NURSE AGREEING AND SAYING THEY GET THAT A LOT????) YESTERDAY BROUGHT BETTER HEALTH WITH HER MIGRAINE GONE AND SOME MOVING AROUND...NOT EXACTLY A MARATHON RUNNER, BUT STILL MOVING AROUND ON HER OWN. DOCTORS ARE HAPPY WITH HER IMPROVEMENT AND TALK IS THAT SHE MAY BE ABLE TO COME HOME TODAY...HOPE SO AS THESE HOUR AND A HALF TRIPS (ONE WAY) DO GET DRAINING...SO THAT'S THE STORY AND HOPEFULLY TOMORROW'S UPDATE WILL BE FROM THE HOME BY LES HERSELF...

09/26/01.. last night, fighting migraine and nasuea (possibly a byproduct of the migraine). Dr.s unable to give normal medicine for migraine because it is in pill form. (Les has fibromyalgia and migraines are a frequent visitor) Doctors wanted to try another medication, but typically got lost somewhere in telling me about what they wanted her to have (5 PM) and actually getting it to her...(still nothing at 9 pm)...Hospital staff kept assurances going, but with no medication didnt do much to help her...Sleep was the only thing that seemed to be any escape and she dozed frequently while I was there...At my arrival she was again sitting on chair, and talk was of her leaving fri or sat??????

operation lasted 6-1/2 hours.. all appears well. although she is whipped. was still groggy and sore last night, but they did get her up and walking.. (well at least to the chair). so will have more information tonight,But seems she's over one of the humps and now on the mend.

Leslie - I pray everything goes well for you before during and after your surgery. I'm right behind you my surgery is Oct 4th.
