New surgery date was Jan 10th 2003, I'm now 11 days post and doing great, boy time really is slow on this side. Fells like surgery was months ago. but when I move it reminds me LOL I'm really happy I put on a bra for the first time after surgery on the 8th day, and found I have lost several inches. WEEE HAAAA I refuse to get on the scales until I go back to the Dr. which is Jan 28th. thanks for all the love and surport. Tina

Surgery was canceled due to lack of staff, will be reschealuled after Jan 6th, was very hurt, but I know God has a plan.......I just wish he would let me in on it LOL

Tina, I am so sorry to hear your surgery was cancelled. But, as you said there must have been a good reason from above. I hope you dont have to wait to long for a new date. Take care... Mary

Thanks so much for your love, prayers, and support ! I wish I could say I was safely on the other side. My surgery was scheduled for Sat. Dec 21. 02 My husband & kids, Mother , Brother & his family left here Friday drove 4 1/2 hours, spent the night, check in was at 6:00 am. got there, the lady (in Gray) said it would be a while, that kinda shocked me, but Ok, Debbie ( scheduled for Sat. also) and Her husband came in. Dr. Stelmack ( my surgeon) came in and said "I hope neither of you ladies are setting here waiting to have surgery, it's been canceled for today" I said we are here to have surgery, and he ask hadn't anyone told us? I thought maybe he was just trying to lighten the mood, calm the nerves. He then ran off, a few minutes later a male nurse came in and introduced him self and said he would be taking care of us today. that made me thing that Dr. Stelmack was again joking. Then the lady (in Gray) said that a nurse called in at 10:45 pm and that made them way under staffed to the point of being unable to safely do the after care. Then Dr. Stelmack came back out and spoke with us and even though Debbie (the other girl waiting to have surgery ) was in tears, I knew that God had a reason to hold up the surgery, the Dr. Stelmack again explained how sick the staff had been and that the nursing coordinator had been there since 7:00 am the day before, and had stayed over all night calling staff and trying to find enough to come in and make full staff. The Debbie and my self both have insurance issues, they both are changing after the first of the year. Debbie's is changing to BCBS, and BTC has told them that they don't take BCBS. I'm not sure what company my Husbands insurance is changing to, or if they will cover it. Also we both have our deductibles met, my insurance this year is 90/10, and I know it is changing on that part to 80/20. Dr. Stelmack said they understood the issues, and many people are working to get us in before the New Year, even thought Monday is there last surgery date scheduled for the year. I'm to call the Director of the hospital Monday Dec 23 to see what they can do. One or the major problems was that scheduling is in Michigan, and the Hospital is in Ohio, They are unable to get ahold of scheduling until Monday morning. I fell they will try to call in staff and get full care up and running for Dec. 26, 27, 28th , or maybe even 30th they all was really hurt and upset about this having to be put off.
