Janis, I am wishing you a successful, complication-free surgery and a smooth, quick recovery. I had my open RNY on 12/10/01 and can honestly say that I have NO regrets other than not having done this several years sooner. It is, without a doubt, the best thing I could have done for myself. Janis, best wishes to you. I know you are in good hands with Dr. Murphy. My husband and I both had surgery at Scripps/Mercy hosp in 2001. Our dr was Dr. Rumsey with Pacific Bariatrics. He is an angel. My husband and I have lost a combined total of 280 lbs so far. We have had wonderful care with this clinic. We also had a great stay at the hospital. They specialize in this type of surgery. Good luck to you.

I am just wanting to thank each and everyone one of you personally for your great words of encouragement. I do believe I will do well because I know I have so many wonderful people pulling for me. I am trying desperately to stay healthy for my surgery on thursday. My pulmonary doctor has me on antibiotics and a prednisone booster to keep my lungs free and clear.. Again thank you all so much...
