Hi everyone! I want to thank everyone for the kind comments and prayers for a good surgery. I came home yesterday and so far the worst thing is the pain in my back. I have had hardly any incision pain. I could not get comfortable in the hospital bed so the nights there were torture but I'm much more comfortable since I'm home. Trying to get all the fluid in and I started my multivitamin and protein drink today. I hate to say this but I am humgry. I know I can't eat but I'm sure looking forward to those mashed potatoes next Wed. So far so good and I hope everyone that had surgery this past week or has an upcoming surgery does well. Again thanks for all the well wishes, they worked. Take care, Leann

Hi everybody, It's Chad, Leann's husband again She is doing good, starting to walk at 0630am, doing breathing exercises, and eating ice chips. So far so good. Everything has worked out and the people are really nice, but the nurses here are pretty slow to respond to a beeping IV machine. I had to physically find one everytime we had a problem. Leann told me earlier to thank everyone that posted to my first post. Chad (Leann Newman's Husband)

Congrats Leann...so glad to hear your surgery was a success. I live in Alabama now but am originally from Louisiana. I have family all over the state. My good friend, who lives in Lafayette had your same surgeon for her wls in 2000. She loved him. I will pray for your continued recovery and success on your journey to a thinner, healthier you.

Hi, this is Chad, Leanns husband. I'll probably be keeping the log for a few days till she can use the computer, so here I go. Leann sucessfully underwent surgery at 10am and should be on her way to her room which is where I am right now waiting. We are in room 627 at Methodist Memorial Hospital. The Dr. said everything went fine. More later.
