Thomas Helling

"I meet Dr. Helling and his staff on July 30, 2001. I have to say that I am very impressed with all the information that they have on this surgery and their extensive knowledge. I was very impressed. First you meet his nurse and do a thing with her that is very informative. I did think however that his nurse, even though she seemed very nice, also seemed kind of above me, and that was bothersome. I mean my whole life I have felt like that, I would like the people who are helping to change my life to kind of know that feeling and be more sensitive to it. Then I meet with the nutritionalist/dietician. She is great and explained everything in great detail. She was sensitive to my needs and helpful with my questions. If she could not answer them, then she said who might be able to answer them. Then I had my physical with the nurse. Not a big deal and no blood. Then I meet Dr. Helling, he is a very quite man and seems kind and caring, a little stand offish maybe, but most doctors have this aura to me. He was very ok with all the questions I ask, even his mortality rate of the patients. Many dr. would have been a little shocked or stand offish about it, but he answered fully and openly to the best of my knowledge without hesitation. Over all on first opinion, they seem to be a confindent team and I look forward to working with them."
