"12/05/01 - Had my consult with Dr. Helling's staff (Dr. Helling was called away to surgery) First class bunch of ladies. Nurse Patty and Dietician Christine were both very nice and informative. The surgery scheduler, Sandra was SUCH A NICE LADY and had such nice things to say about Dr. Helling. I will meet Dr. Helling on Jan 21. Surgery date is April 5, 2001 pending insurance approval - Cigna PPO. 1/10/02 WOO HOO...I AM APPROVED. CIGNA ONLY TOOK 7 DAYS TO APPROVE ME! NOW I JUST WAIT! (I have been waiting a year and a half. What's another 3 months!) Would love to have my surgery date moved up! Nightly prayers are being said! 1/21/02 - Met Dr. Helling. I feel very comfortable with the choice I have made for surgeons. He was clear that complications can occur, but felt that due to my reasonably good health, I should have favorable results. I just love the ladies in his office. Can't say enough nice things about Sandy the scheduler. She just makes you feel relaxed. Gail was also very nice during this visit. STILL WAITING..... 1/28 - I am a little depressed. Dr. Helling is scheduled 4 months out. I met someone else who saw him in December and SHE HAS A FEBRUARY 15 SURGERY DATE! I am trying to figure out why I saw him Dec. 5 and I am not scheduled until April 5. It just seems like I have spent the entire last two years WAITING! Everyone else seems to cut a break but me. OH well, good things come to those who wait. 2/18/02 - OH MY GOSH! They moved my date from April 5 to FEBRUARY 22. Yip, that's only 4 more days. Had pre-op testing done today. No biggie...just a sonogram and some blood draw. Also did my precertification so I don't have to do it at the time of surgery. I AM SO SCARED...but also excited. WILL REPORT BACK IN A FEW WEEKS...GOD WILLING! "
