Lisa, I am posting this to your surgery page to let you know how incredibly proud I am of you! You know(at least I hope you do) how much I not only love you, but love Cliff and the boys as well! I am SO lucky to have you as a friend! It's been along time since I have met anyone with a heart as wonderful as yours! And to think it all started via this website! AMAZING! Anyway, you look great and I am so proud of you! I love you as if you were my own sister! Thanks for being an AWESOME friend! I love you girl! ~LEY~

Hello Lisa - Congratulations, how excited you must be right now? After all the months of waiting, researching, healing, etc, to finally be able to see the "results" on the scales is nothing short of fantastic. I've been through it myself and I know it's a long and hard journey but I also know the rewards more then outweigh the obstacles. When the weight finally starts to come off you regain a new and wonderful sense of freedom. It puts all the challenges along the way into perspective and you realize with each pound you've lost, inner strength was regained. Remember to <b>CELEBRATE</b> all the "special moments" along the way, big or small.  Too many people focus only on <i>numbers</i>, ie. pounds lost.  There are so many "moments" to look forward to and embrace on this journey - don't let any of them slip by.   Enjoy your new healthier life, you've more then earned it!!   <i> "The key to happiness is dreams, the key to success is making those dreams come true"</i> .....Hugs and Smiles : )

I am 3 weeks & 2 days post-op. I have been doing well, other than a very intense, intermittent pain in my left upper quaderant that I have had for a week now. I had started feeling back to normal for a few days, then this pain started back. It hurts really bad when I drink and also when I take a deep breath. I went to the doc yesterday & he wants to do an upper GI with small bowel follow through, chest x-rays, and blood work on Monday. Please remember me & pray that everything is OK. I don't want to hear him say that he's got to go back in. Other than this pain, I am doing great. I have lost 18 or 19 pounds(my scales said 20 or 21, but doc's said 18), I have been back at work since my 12th post-op day, I have been walking 2 miles a day, and I have tolerated everything that I have eaten quite well. I still don't regret having the surgery, but I am ready to be done with this pain & start feeling completely normal!

Lisa, congratulations on making it to the losing side. I am so sorry that you had so many problems after surgery, but hopefully that is all behind you. You have done with the weight loss as well as I have heard a lot of post ops saying that they gained weight those first few days. Just remember to take it one day at a time and don't try to rush yourself. Best wishes as you continue on your journey.

Hey, guys. I have been home for 5 days now. Down 10 lbs. or so since surgery on the 21st. I am feeling so much better. Yesterday I walked down the road three times & sat under a tree & read magazines & watched my husband & children play ball. It was my best post-op day so far. I have done so much better since they removed my drain tube. It was causing me problems, so they removed it 2 days early. I really feel that the drain delayed my recovery. I have had no nausea at all. I have tolerated everything that I have tried without problems. The only problems that I have had was in the hospital I lost a lot of blood. They had to give me 2 units of plasma then 2 units of blood. My 2 day hospital stay turned into 5. Then I had terrible pain even after it should have been subsiding. The doc said my tube might be causing problems, so they removed it early. The removal process was awful, but since it was removed I have felt sooooo much better. I hope to be back at work on Tues. I can't wait to get things back to normal. Thanks to everyone that has prayed for me, posted words of encouragement, or e-mailed me. You don't know how much it means!! I love you all & best wishes to everyone!!!!
