Hi;
I drove 360 miles down to see Janice on May 26th, her one month anniversary (of her surgery date), she was on the regular floor and doing good. I took her some limes to sqeeze juice into her water. She still cannot have anything by mouth, but she can swish the water (with juice) around in her mouth and spit it out. She said it helps to activate her salivary glands, so that her mouth isn't so dry. I saw her again on Sunday, she even looked a lot better than Saturday night and I was greatly encouraged.
But then, Dr. Todd posted on Tuesday that she had taken a turn for the worse... she was taken back to ICU and intubated. She had started getting real sick really fast, apparently one of the medicines she was on knocked her white cell count down really low. As of today she seems to be holding her own... she is one tough lady! When I see her this next week (yes, I am driving back down again), I plan to tease her about liking the one-on-one attention of ICU too much! Janice... you hang in there... you know a LOT of people care about you deeply and wish to see you well. Hugs, my friend.
