Hi everyone, I wanted to let you guys know that Rissa is doing WONDERFUL!!! I just talked to a friend that is staying with her and she said she is doing great, she is up walking and they hope to take the stomach tube out today around 4 pm. Continue to remember her in your prayers and remember to thank God for this great blessing!

Rissa, today is the first time that I have read your profile. I dont think I have encoutered such a fighter. You seem to be a very strong woman, and I think that others will certainly be encouraged to stand up and fight for what they believe. As for those who may have criticized you in your fund raising, I say "GOOD FOR YOU!" Most people had the good fortune of the insurance paying for their surgery, you were not that lucky, HOWEVER, I think that those people would have done anything possible to get their surgery, as you had to do. May You stay blessed! Jessica

I so glad to hear that you are feeling better! God has truly blessed you with a fighting spirit that has seen you through! I admire you, your friends, and your family for all that was done to make this surgery possible for you. You worked so hard, and now you are on the losing side. Nerissa: I am new to this web site and was so inspired by your story and just wanted to say congratulations on your DS. I live in KY and am researching wls, leaning toward DS. I would likely choose Dr. Husted..my two dearest friends had RNY with him 2-3 years ago and think he is a saint. Your photo and your story are both beautiful and I wish you all the best in your new-found life.

I was just writing in to let everyone know that rissa is doing great, I called Baptist Hospital this evening and a family member said she was taken off the ventilator and is doing great. Thank all of you for your prayers and continue to pray for her. May God bless you all!

Nerissa, I read your profile and I am about your size. My heart goes out to you along with my prayers. I hope once you come home and recover maybe we could email.
