Hi everybody. I am now 5 months post-op and down 82 pounds!!! My BMI has dropped to 39, and I am over halfway to goal! After discovering lactose intolerance and stopping the dairy products, I feel great. Eileen 326/244/170

Hi everybody! I am now 8 days post-op and doing great! I started eating soft proteins yesterday, and drove my car today for the first time. I am in very little pain, my blood sugar is normal, and I feel wonderful!!! Thank you all so much for all the words of support and your thoughts and prayers! Eileen

Eileen, herself, called me this evening. I was so surprised and she wanted to let me know that she was thinking of me when I have my gallbladder surgery tomorrow. I am so touched. She sounded groggy as one would expect and was having a bit of a problem putting thoughts together, much to the amusement of her family. But, she sounded good too so I am very encouraged that she is going to do just fine. It will be very interesting walking through her journey with her and comparing to my journey. I just received a call from Eileen's husband and she is out of surgery. In addition to her RNY, the doctor removed a 5 pound gallbladder that was packed full and very hard. Eileen will be in ICU for at least 24 hours while they monitor her. She is a "special" case and will require close monitoring for a bit. The doctor told her husband that she had the tissue of a much younger person and that bodes well for healing. So, the first hurdle has been cleared and now we are onto the healing phase. I will try to post another update today if I hear back from Dave. I have my gallbladder removal/hernia repair in the morning so I may not be able to post for a bit. Eileen and I will be healing together, but her healing will yield much more dramatic changes than mine. Way to go Eileen!!! You are on the losing side of life now and it will be a good kind of losing!!! Angel Sandra
