~*~(From my heart to yours)I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all.(unknown author)~*~Hugs~*~

More news, my friends. My gp dr called today with bloodwork results, telling me that my triglicerides and cholesterol are sky high, and I am now on yet another prescription. I'm 45 yrs old, and starting to feel like an 80 yr old woman, taking 5 prescriptions every day now. I really need this wls planning and pre-op stuff to go by fairly quickly - I'm afraid now that I might have a heart attack! Thanks for your support & prayers everyone - I love and wish the best for us all!!!!

Hi Carol I'm also a member here on obestiy.com my name is Krislyn Brinkman and I'm from South Dakota and had my WLS on May 27, 2003 and I am feeling so much better, what a life change and it saved my life. I'm writing because I just joined a support group on MSN that your daughter is on also and she mentioned you were thinking about doing this for your health and I just wanted to give you some encouragement. I too had type 2 diabetes for about 4 years now and I was on insulin at first with shots 3 times a day then he switched me to pills. I started getting the feet problems really bad and have nerve damage now in both feet and my left one was always hurting and throbbing and swollen. Well let me tell you, the day after my surgery, my surgeon told me I could go ahead and stop taking all my diabettes medications and my previcid for acid reflux and I haven't had a single problem with either. My feet have gotten better, I still have the nerve damage and my left one bothers me a little still but that's to be expected since it started from the diabettes but it's not anything near what the pain was before surgery. I think having the surgery was the best thing I could ever do for my health and my life, I do believe it saved me. I have asthma really bad and was born with it but for the last 3 1/2 years I have been living off of oxygen daily so I could just breathe and I just turned 33 last week. I was so depressed and so heavy that life seemed so doomed for me. I look back now and wonder why my doctor never suggested this to me years ago. I feel about 5 years younger already and I'm only 11 weeks post op. I went from 313 lbs the day of surgery to 262 lbs as of today Aug. 14. I carried all my weight in my tummy and butt and hips and now things are disappearing and especially the tummy area wow what a difference it has made. I can bend over and cross my legs and just even walking is easier. I could hardly walk to the mail box without getting out of breath and having to use my inhaler. Well I could go on and on and on about all this because, I'm just so excited and can't explain the joy in life I'm feeling again. I wish you the best and i'm sure you will make the right decission for you. Check out my profile on here if you would like and my email addy is there if you ever want to write and chat. Best of luck to you. Sincerely Krislyn B.
