Tammy, your fears an natural and understandable. We all mull over the same concerns prior to surgery. I am 9 days out and my lap RNY took 1.5 hours and my pain management was excellent. The next day I was seeing my children and walking in the halls. The way I see it, my children could have had a mother that was fat, insecure and reclusive...or a mother that has a zest for life, shares family outings and other activities with them and has a happy disposition. <P> There is also a point I came to when I had to make a decision that was all about "me" for a change and not about others. I was sure that once I found health and happiness, I would be a better wife, mother and friend. <P> I will pray that God will grant you a peace and an acceptance about your decision, and that He will hold you in the palm of his hands as you travel this road. tammy i know how scared you are. i was so freaked out before my surgery mostly cause of my children. read my profile (glenda berry) i have done extremely well 0 problems so far and im 3 months out. i feel better than i have in a long time. but i know your fears are real my prayers are with you for a peace of mind and safe surg and recovery if i can help please let me know glenda berry
