02/25/04 13 days postop! No idea what I may have lost since we don't own a scale and won't know til my first check-up on March 13th, but at least it's over. There were some problems during the surgery so it ended up taking a while longer than anticipated and involved losing my appendix and a section of small bowel as well as a blood transfusion. Got two more pints later too. The extra time in surgery and recovery has really messed with my knees and I can barely move around, which upsets both the doctors and me. Damn arthritis... In any case, other than the pain in my knees, I'm doing pretty good and it gets better every day.

lynn, thanks for the kind words. hope all goes well with your surgery. i am glad we have the same surgeon. i went through the same waiting period while the doctor was on sick leave. my surgery date is march 18. so you get to go first. i will be thinking of you. keep me posted. kerry
