Hi there!! I'm in Decatur, too and I would love to be your angel. I am 14 1/2 weeks post op and down 70 lbs. I had surgery in Peoria, but they weren't offering it in Decatur then. I'd love to talk to you if you like. Anytime. Good luck!!

If I was comfortable with my Dr and felt he was capable, I would have no qualms on having my surgery at the hospital. Its a personal decision. At the bariatric center, thats all they do.So being specialized they will do a good job also,if they are caring people. Can you check out the reputations of each?Ask each for a referral list and call the patients.Leslie

~~MELINDA~~ I had surgery on August 30th with Dr. Kane Jr. out of Arlington Heights, Illinois. It might be a cruise for you but, well-worth it. My doc was amazing! His website is: www.suburbancarespecialists.com God Bless! †

Melinda, I know exactly how you feel. I am rarely full. I amaze myself at how much I can eat. BUT, got a surgery date of December 30, insurance approval, hubby and son and mom approval, I'm on the way. Just give me a size 14 and I'll be happy as can be!

Melinda, Congrats to you on taking this first important step. Recognizing that you have a problem and making headway towards a solution takes a lot of willpower and determination. It is very hard to address the skin issue. If you are young your skin may have enough elascitity to "bounc back" but think of your skin like a rubberband. There is only so much that can go back. Many people chose to have plastic surgery especially in the tummy area. Exercising to tone muscles and drinking your water is very important as well. Best of luck to you! KimmieTN
