Best wishes to you on your upcoming, life saving surgery. We are both so pleased to be writing to you and sending all of our heartfelt congratulations to you for choosing this procedure to extend your life and to let you live your life to the fullest extent. We both had open rny's in 2001. Mine (Doug, aka: OLD RODEO CLOWN PANTS), was in Oct and I have lost 215 lbs. I started at 450!!!! My sweet wife, Nancy, had hers in June and has lost 110 lbs. We invite you to go read our profiles and hope it might help you in some way. We are not professional writers, but all that we wrote is true and honest. Just remember that YOU WILL SUCCEED!!! BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AND YOU CANNOT FAIL. We wish you all the best, a problem free surgery and recovery and a rapid weight loss. From: Doug and Nancy, SO. CALIF.

I just wanted to say GOOD LUCK on your surgery. Take a deep breath, try to relax. Know that we all care about you and are wishing you the best. Think positive, it really does help. After surgery, remember to turn, cough, take deep breaths, and walk to prevent complications. Hold your incision when you cough, it helps it hurt less. Keep your profile updated, it may make a difference in the live of someone else. Smile, keep your chin up! And lastly, if your chin does fall, just remember, from this position it is easier to moon people! :) (Also, humor helps too!)

Kinberly, I have heard that too. If I could eat smaller amounts with out surgery. My own mother said this to me when I first talked about this surgery. I just looked at her and said "Its called hunger. DUH" If I ate then how much I'm eating now I would have been STARVING all day. They just don't understand what the MO have to go thru. Don't let them get you down. You and only you know how much you suffer daily from the extra weight. I know I was miserable. Good luck on your journey. Oh and by the way my mom is now one of my biggest supporters and keeps buying me clothes. Heck I'll let her too LOL> Jamie (Post op -open RNY-April 23, 2003...-84lbs)

Kimberly!...This is not the easy way out. It takes a lot to make this life changing decision! And you will still be able to have sweet things... just not with sugar. There are sugar free chocolates, sugar free ice pops, even sugar free reese cups! You need to stop listen to all the negative people and know that you are going to be successful and healthy and as a bonus...thin! You go girl! Jeannie

Stopppp! Don't listen to the negative things that these people keep telling you. You know better than anyone else what will and won't work for you. Also, we all know that this is not the easy way out. This is a life long change and major surgery to boot. I am praying that God gives you peace and the courage to withstand all the hateful, hurtful words that are being thrown your way. I am also praying that your surgery goes smoothly and your recovery is speedy. Best wishes to you.
